Pavanamuktasana (Wind-relieving Pose)



Acts on abdominal and rectal regions. Cures acidity, dyspepsia flatulence and constipation.

Method:
Lie down on your back, and stretch your legs. As you inhale, raise the right leg, bend it at the knees and draw it toward the chest. Press the knee upon your chest using both the hands. Hold your breath and remain thus for five to ten seconds. Exhale, and release the knees, bring your leg to its original position and relax. Repeat with the other leg, and then with both the legs together. These three processes will make one complete round, Which can be repeated four to five times. The regulation of breath should be resorted to only after you are able to perform the pose properly.

Benefits:
Relieves acidity, constipation, dyspepsia, flatulence and helps tone up muscles.
